New Delhi : Vikram Sahay, Co-Secretary, Ministry of Information and broadcasting said today that the digital entertainment industry has experienced phenomenal growth and has been a source of direct and indirect employment, however, it is now the responsibility of everyone in the industry to ensure that self-classification takes place in the good spirit under the Code of Ethics for Digital Media.
Speaking at Pixels, the digital entertainment conference hosted by IAMAI, he said, âConsumers are curious whether the self-classification rule will be able to maintain the level of seriousness and discipline in creation. of content. We believe that the creators and producers of content are mature enough and have accepted it in the right spirit. It is now the responsibility of everyone in the industry to ensure that this self-classification is carried out in letter and in spirit. There should be no cause for grievance as it is self-classification rather than pre-certification.
âWe have been in consultation with IAMAI for quite a long time, mainly in the area of ââcontent regulation and IAMAI has played a very important role in bringing all the OTT players together and trying to develop a community of ideas and interests and that helped us try to get away with the digital media code of ethics that was notified in February of this year. “
