“We are working to save the natural world, but in the current situation it seemed right to focus on supporting Ukraine. The fight for freedom is close to our hearts because the last Russian soldiers have only left Estonia than in 1994,” said Merit Valdsalu, co-founder and CEO of Single.Earth.
“As we all take individual action, we can use our company’s platform to amplify the message – in the ways we know and with the tools we have. So we turned our planned NFT campaign into this special edition,” she said.
The 2,031 unique works of art – created by American-born artist Duncan Halleck – represent the courageous people of Ukraine, who hold firmly to the country’s freedom. Single.Earth graphic designer Halleck raised the highest amount at the “Art Against War” auction earlier in March.
All proceeds will go to the International Committee of the Red Cross for its humanitarian work in Ukraine.
The NFT collection, named #StandWithUkraine, will be on sale on the Magic Eden Market.
Single.Earth uses the Solana blockchain, as it only needs a fraction of the power compared to alternatives, to symbolize the nature of the world in terms of carbon and biodiversity. The startup issues tokens to landowners for carbon dioxide captured from biodiverse nature.
