Asia-Pacific was the fastest growing region for digital media hiring among shipbuilding companies in the three months to March.
The number of jobs in Asia-Pacific accounted for 22.8% of total digital media jobs, up from 7.5% in the same quarter last year.
This was followed by Europe, which saw a 10.3 percentage point year-on-year change in digital media roles.
The figures are compiled by GlobalData, which tracks the number of new job postings from key companies in various sectors over time. Using textual analysis, these job postings are then categorized by topic.
GlobalData’s thematic approach to industry activity seeks to group key company information by topic to see which companies are best positioned to weather the coming disruptions in their industries.
These key themes, which include digital media, are chosen to cover “any issue that keeps a CEO up at night.”

Which countries are experiencing the fastest growth in digital media jobs in the shipbuilding industry?
The fastest growing country was India, which recorded 6.6% of all digital media job openings in the three months to March 2021, rising to 15.1% in during the three months ending in March of this year.
Next come Hungary (up 5.8 percentage points), China (4.5) and the United Kingdom (3.1).
The top country for digital media jobs in the shipbuilding industry is the United States, which saw 29% of all advertised jobs in the three months ending March.
Which cities are the biggest hubs for digital media workers in the shipbuilding industry?
Some 7.4% of all shipbuilding industry digital media roles were advertised in Pune, India in the three months to March.
Budapest (Hungary) comes next with 6.9%, Bengaluru (India) with 4.7% and Copenhagen (Denmark) with 3.8%.
