African Digital Art Network launches Nandi NFT Marketplace

Nandi was created to create an environment for black creators to thrive on the Web3. In addition to the marketplace, Nandi will feature the Nandi Cowry Community – a collection of 10,000 Nandi Cowry NFTs – each representing a unique digital collectible living on the carbon-negative Celo blockchain.

“The excitement and buzz surrounding our groundbreaking launch is invigorating. For over a decade, we have built a community at ADA with the intention of giving artists from across the continent and the African Diaspora a voice and an opportunity to create livelihoods through their work,” said Jepchumba, co-founder and CEO of Nandi.

“The African community has a deep heritage of innovation and technology. The advent of NFTs, the metaverse, and the web3 have presented a phenomenal opportunity to democratically create wealth through art. It is our goal and intention at ADA to ensure that the Black community has the opportunity to be included in this moment. We believe that the Nandi NFT Marketplace and our Nandi Cowry community will allow this to happen. continued Jepchumba.

The designer of the Nandi Cowry NFT is R!OT Sindiso Nyoni, a Johannesburg-based artist who designed the Mandela Centenary Coin in South Africa. The Nandi Cowry Community NFT acts as a membership card that grants holders access to special utilities such as members-only benefits, content, voting privileges on Emerging Creator Fellowship grants, community curation of premium digital art and exhibitions held on the Nandi NFT Market. These rewards will be bundled into member-only perks unlocked through activity on the platform.

In addition to the market, there will be a collaborative artist studio Nandi Cowry. This in-house creative studio will partner with the creative community to develop Nandi’s digital worlds and design projects commissioned by founding members.
